Meet the Founders, Carolyn Testa & Lauren Samson
Carolyn is a yoga and meditation teacher, specializing in Prenatal Yoga. Long before she became pregnant with her first child, she knew she wanted to serve women bringing life into this world. With a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, she has always been fascinated by how the body works. She became particularly intrigued by the mind-body connection through her mindfulness and yoga practice, and how that applies to the rapid changes a woman goes through during pregnancy and childbirth.
Lauren is a mental training coach with a PhD in sport psychology. She grew up as an athlete with a long-time desire to work in mental training for high-performing athletes. It was doing research in graduate school with postpartum women and having her own baby that made her realize it wasn’t athletes, but expecting moms that she wanted to work with. She is passionate about translating tools for mental toughness in the sporting world to ones that are accessible and can have a real impact in birth settings.
